Reaching Odzala

Odzala can be reached either by road or by air from Brazzaville. All visitors to Odzala are required to first visit Brazzaville to complete immigration and customs formalities. Clients are required to obtain a letter of invitation (LOI) well in advance of their travels to the Congo. Congo Conservation Company assists guests with this important document.

From Brazzaville, there are several options, including self-driving (this option is for people who live and own a car in the Congo.)  If you are interested in this option please contact us to find out more, or we can arrange a transfer, booking your flight on EC Air to Ollombo (Friday and Sunday departures only). ECAir flies a Boeing 737 aircraft to Ollombo which takes about 40 minutes. Guests are adviesd to check in 2 X 23kg bags as well as one 8kg bag as a carry-on.  Please note that often guests are required to weigh their carry-on before entering security.

This is followed by a transfer in our new 26 seat Toyota Coaster bus to the Etoumbi Hotel, where you will overnight in a comfortable CCC-operated facility before crossing the Likouala-Mossaka river bypontoon barge and then on to the Camps. The pontoon barge at Etoumbi showcases the locals’ ingenuity in getting vehicles across the river.

Private charter planes are available at an extra cost.
